Schools IT Technician

Role Responsibility

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a highly professional IT Support service to our Schools, Academies and clients of EIS, covering a range of IT services such as networking (WAN, LAN and wi-fi), windows server, User devices, On-Premise and Cloud based Administration and Curriculum solutions, classroom technology and e-safety. They will engage with our new and existing customers to identify their IT needs and will be assisting with IT roadmaps.

Key Duties

  • To manage and maintain schools IT infrastructure to ensure that the systems and solutions are secure , including Windows server and network equipment
  • Troubleshooting and resolving incidents and sharing solutions with colleagues
  • With assistance from the Team Leader, provide advice in response to requests for new IT solutions, services and equipment
  • Act on behalf of our customers with our 3rd party providers while ensuring this is delivered in line with the customers needs
  • To be accountable for ensuring e-saftey IT solutions are fit for purpose, implemented and managed effectively
  • Highlights IT risks to school leaders with assistance from the Team leader and use technical expertise
  • When not on customer sites, provides remote support for customers, resolving incidents and responding to requests. This includes documenting incidents, progress checking and ensuring all diagnostic information is provided for error resolution and incident analysis

What we need from you

  • Practical experience of support in a Primary School classroom, touch panels, smart boards, projectors or visualisers
  • Experience of schools MIS Solutions eg, SIMS or Arbour
  • Experience of troubleshooting IT networking issues (WAN, LAN and wi-fi)
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting User devices, desktops, laptops, tablets ect
  • Experience of setup and support of print configurations
  • Understanding of the ITIL Framework and Service Desk Institute
  • To understand specific standards associated with current role ie, service desk procedures, support procedures, corporate policies and change management processes
  • Experience in working in an IT Service Delivery Function
  • Excellent communication skills
